How This Program Was Developed
When I first started promoting my business through public speaking, I
think I made every mistake possible. As a result, I gave numerous
“promotional” speeches with very little business to show for it. I had many
years of experience in both public speaking and marketing. Yet when I tried to
market my coaching services by speaking to groups, I usually came up empty.
Frustrated and discouraged, I wondered what I was missing.
Searching for the answers, I began to study other professional
speakers and marketers to see what they were doing. I drew useful ideas
and approaches from my background in marketing and my dozens of hours of NLP
training in rapport-building, persuasion, and motivation. I experimented with
these ideas in my own speeches to see what worked and what didn’t.
Finally, after a lot of trial and error, I pieced together what all
it took to make public speaking work as an effective marketing method.
Instead of just speaking for “exposure,” I soon found that I was getting business from almost every speech I gave. Eager to help other
professionals do the same, I created the Speak and Win Clients group coaching

Program Structure
- This is a 6-month program conducted primarily via teleconference
and the Internet. This allows you to easily participate from your
home or office. The time frame is designed to be short enough to help you
get focused yet long to give you sufficient time to complete the
business-building program assignments.
- The program is open to a maximum of 8 participants, divided into
two 4-person practice groups. This ensures that each participant
will receive plenty of personal attention and practice time, while
benefiting from hearing others present and receive targeted coaching and
feedback.
- At the start of the program, you will receive a private 60-90
minute Quick-Start Speaking Strategic Coaching Session. This
session is designed to help you clarify your speaking goals, sharpen your
focus, hone your core marketing message, and lay the foundation for creating
a client-attracting showcase speech.
- The group portion of the program begins with 4 weekly training
calls designed to review the basic elements of developing a
client-attracting showcase presentation. As we progress through
these calls, you will take what you learn to create a presentation that will
appeal to your ideal prospective clients and audiences. These sessions will
also be recorded to allow for easy review.
- During the month following your basic training calls, you will
fine-tune your presentation outline and connect by phone with another group
member or two to review your basic speech framework. This can help
you to both improve the flow of your presentation and discover new
possibilities for more engaging content as well.
- The final 3 months of the program are designed as an
ongoing workshop to give you the opportunity to practice and further develop
your presentation. During each of these 3 months, you will meet in
person with your coach and practice group for a half-day practice/evaluation
session. During each of these sessions, you will be a featured presenter
and receive helpful suggestions for improvement. These sessions are
designed to build upon one another, enabling you to take your presentation
to a higher and higher level. Plus you will gain even more value by
watching and listening to the showcase presentations and evaluations of
other participants.
- During each of the 3 months of fine-tuning and practice, there
will also be a separate open frame phone session. This is an
opportunity to get answers to your ongoing speech development questions and
receive the added guidance you need to maximize the impact of your
presentation.
- You will be able to offer and receive additional support through
a Google Group platform that will be set up for the program.
Whether you're looking for additional feedback on your speech title or want
to offer another group member a suggestion for improving his or her talk,
this will make it easy for you to support one another.
- You will have unlimited email access to program leader Sam
Wieder to help you address any questions that arise while you are developing
your showcase speech. This will ensure that you have any guidance
and support you need between group sessions to keep moving and on track.
